The cut out collage, which calls to mind the work of Matisse, is a medium that communicates a sense of spontaneity, even immediacy in its conception. Leeds paints shapes with saturated color, layers them to create her trademark vessels, a form she revisits again and again in different mediums. Her florals each have their own distinct personality but become a cohesive one in a group. Leeds pairs unusual colors in contrasting relationships to create compositions who’s form vibrate with joy and naivete.
